Rant: My air fryer chicken wings took 45 minutes instead of 25, still not sure what went wrong
I followed this recipe from a blog that said 25 minutes at 400 for crispy wings. Mine came out all soggy after that, so I had to keep adding 5 minute rounds and checking. Ended up taking 45 minutes total and they still weren't as crispy as I wanted. Was it the wet brine I did overnight or just my air fryer running colder than normal? Anyone else deal with crazy cook times on wings?

omg same thing happened to me last week! i brined them overnight thinking it'd be game changing and they came out looking like sad boiled chicken skin. i read somewhere that the sugar in the brine can burn too if you don't dry them enough so now i just do a dry rub the night before and let them sit in the fridge uncovered

That wet brine is probably your main problem honestly. I brine chicken all the time but for wings in an air fryer you want them as dry as possible before they go in. The moisture from the brine sits under the skin and steams instead of crisping up. I pat mine dry with paper towels then let them sit uncovered in the fridge for a few hours before cooking. Also 400 in my air fryer runs way hotter than the dial says so I usually do 380 for 25 minutes and flip halfway through. 45 minutes seems like a lot even for a colder running fryer though. Your wings might have just been too crowded too if they were stacked on top of each other.
