Showerthought: I've been making frozen fries wrong for a year. Tried a different way last night and it was a game changer.

Totally agree with @hollywhite. My big one was reheating pizza in the microwave, which just makes it soggy. Now I put a slice in a cold pan on low with a lid, and the crust gets crisp and the cheese melts perfectly. It feels silly it took me so long to figure that out.

How many other small habits are we just doing wrong without knowing?

My uncle taught me to store tomatoes on the windowsill for years. Turns out the fridge makes them last way longer and they still taste fine. I was just blindly following a family habit. The pizza and fry examples are spot on, it's crazy how many little things like that we never question.

That frozen fry thing hits home. My roommate swore by putting them straight on the oven rack for years (messy, but he was a believer). I finally got him to try a sheet pan with a little oil and space between them, and the look on his face was pure shock. They were actually crispy all over, not just on one side. Sometimes you just get stuck in a cooking rut.
