I finally stopped fighting with those stupid C-clips on the old Beechcraft Baron landing gear
Honestly, I was ready to throw my snap-ring pliers across the hangar in Wichita last month. This veteran mechanic, Frank, just watched me struggle for 20 minutes, then said, 'Kid, heat the housing with a heat gun for 90 seconds, not the clip.' Ngl, it popped right off. Anyone else have a simple trick that saved you from a huge headache?

My first time doing a brake job on my old truck, I spent an hour trying to get the rotor off. Turns out I forgot to back off the parking brake adjuster. Felt like a real genius that day.

Man, I once fought a stuck oil filter for so long I almost gave it a name.

Last summer I had a coolant hose clamp that just would not let go. My pliers kept slipping off in the tight space behind the alternator. I ended up cutting my knuckles open on a sharp edge, and the clamp still looked brand new. I had to walk away and buy one of those long-reach clamp pliers just to finish the job. That little ten-cent clamp beat me for a whole afternoon.
