I was at a shop outside Chicago last week, helping a buddy pull a KX-155 out of a Cessna, and he pointed at this beat-up test bench from the 80s. He said, "That thing has fixed more radios than most of us have touched." It hit me how we all just swap boxes now, send them out for repair, and barely crack open schematics anymore. I remember tracing a bad capacitor on a Collins VHF-251 back in '98 with a multimeter and a manual, took me two evenings but I felt like a wizard. Do any of you still troubleshoot board-level stuff, or is it all exchange units where you work now?
