Unpopular opinion: nobody torque checks flight controls by feel anymore and it shows
Back in 2009 at a shop in Tulsa I watched a guy run a torque wrench over aileron bolts with his eyes closed, just listening for the click, and he never once got a comeback. Now I see newer guys hand-tightening and calling it good because the manual has a range and they figure close is close. When did we quit teaching feel as a backup to the numbers?
