Warning about a specific torque wrench calibration issue from a guy in Anchorage
He told me, 'If you don't send that click-type out every 12 months, you're just guessing on those engine mount bolts,' and I've followed that rule ever since, so has anyone else had a shop enforce a stricter calibration schedule than the book says?

Cold doesn't mess with the electronics, it's the metal parts that change. The manual's yearly schedule probably already accounts for normal hangar temps.

My old foreman used to make us send the shop's digital wrenches out every six months, no matter what. He said the cold in the hangar messed with the electronics more than the manual said. It was a pain, but we never had a single bolt come back marked wrong. That guy from Anchorage might be onto something with harsh weather.

Funny how that works... always thought those calibration schedules were just paperwork for lawyers. But hearing that from a real hangar, with actual cold messing with the tools... makes you wonder how many other manuals are just guessing. That foreman sounds like the type who learned the hard way. Changes your whole view on following specs to the letter.
