A customer in Boise taught me more than any training class did
Last spring I was doing a panel swap at a 3-bedroom ranch, and the homeowner, a retired electrician named Dave, watched me run the new keypad wires. He didn't say much, just pointed at the zone resistor and said, 'you're gonna want that tucked behind the panel cover, not dangling.' I brushed it off, but two weeks later that wire got pinched by the door hinge and caused a false alarm. That one 15 second comment saved me a callback, and now I always ask customers if they notice anything weird after I finish a rough-in. Anyone else had a homeowner catch something you missed?
