A homeowner in Tulsa told me her alarm kept chirping at 3am, and that one sentence changed how I mount keypads
She said the panel sat right outside her bedroom door, so every low battery beep woke her up, and now I always ask where people sleep before I pick a spot, has anyone else run into this?
Had a job last year in Broken Arrow where the keypad was in the hallway right next to the master bedroom. Guy called me back twice for the same low battery chirp because his wife kept waking up at 2 or 3 in the morning thinking it was a smoke alarm. I moved the panel to the kitchen wall by the garage door and never heard from them again. Now when I do a walkthrough I literally ask which side of the bed they sleep on and where the baby's room is. Sounds dumb but it saves everybody a headache. That one little question changed the whole way I plan a job.
