Every holiday my uncle has a new alarm system complaint

I love my family, but during every get-together, my uncle corners me about his alarm system. He'll start complaining about false triggers from his motion detectors. It's like I'm on the clock even when I'm trying to relax. He never listens to my advice and always tries to tweak things himself. Then I get calls at odd hours because he messed something up. It's tiring having to fix his mistakes for free. Sometimes I wish he'd just hire a professional instead of relying on me. But family is family, so I bite my tongue and help out.

Wait, they just stopped calling completely? That's wild. I figured a small fee would at least filter out the worst time wasters, not make everyone vanish. Charge a fee, honestly. It makes people realize your time has value. Tbh, they might even start listening to your advice once they're paying for it.
