Just realized my old drill was the reason a simple sensor install took all morning

I was putting a new door contact on a metal frame in an old building downtown, and my cordless drill kept stalling out on the pilot holes. I swapped in a fresh battery, tried a different bit, and even used some cutting oil, but it still took me from 8 AM until almost noon to finish a 20 minute job. Has anyone else had a tool just give up on you in the middle of a simple task like that?

Ugh, that drill was basically fighting you for overtime pay.

Seriously, it's just a drill battery dying. River952's overtime joke is fun, but four hours for a pilot hole feels like a bit of a story. Maybe the building's steel was just way harder than you thought.
