My old boss said to never use zip ties on outdoor sensor wires

Honestly, I thought he was just being picky. He told me, 'The sun will eat them in a year, use UV-rated loom instead.' I did a job in Phoenix last summer and ignored him, using regular black ties. Got a callback this week and sure enough, every single one was brittle and cracked. Anyone have a favorite brand for that outdoor conduit stuff?

That "brittle and cracked" line got me. I saw the same thing on a deck railing I helped my dad build. We used a generic plastic clip to hold some solar lights, and after one winter they just shattered in your hand. It's wild how something that feels so solid just turns to dust.

Remember my neighbor's stupid garden fence, logan_mitchell? He used regular zip ties to hold the netting up. Looked fine for a few months, then one windy day it just fell apart like a spiderweb. All those little plastic bits were just sprinkled in the dirt. Sun and weather absolutely wreck stuff you think is tough. Makes you wonder what else in your house is secretly turning to powder.
