Ran cat6 next to a 120V line for 3 years before a hum on a Friday callback clued me in
Got a callback at a shop off Delmar in St. Louis last Friday because the panel kept throwing a zone fault every time the cooler kicked on. I pulled the cover and saw my data run zip-tied right against the conduit feeding the compressor, maybe 2 inches of separation for a 40 foot stretch. The install was 3 years old and I had been doing that same lazy tie-off on dozens of jobs without a single issue, so it never crossed my mind. The tech on the phone just asked where the data was sitting and I knew right then. How much separation do you all keep between low voltage and line voltage on a retro, or do you just reroute whatever is easiest?
