Tried that new wireless contact sensor from the supply house and it kept dropping signal on a metal door frame
Spent an hour on a commercial job last Thursday trying to get this thing to pair. Ended up running a wire anyway. Anyone else run into wireless stuff that just doesn't work on steel doors?

Did you try resetting it by hitting it with a hammer? I do that with everything.

Three times out of five my old VCR actually started working again after I whacked it on the side. The other two times I ended up with a dead VCR and a dent in the case, so your mileage may vary. Honestly with these modern gadgets you gotta be careful, one hard slap and the screen cracks or the whole thing shorts out. But hey, if the warranty is already up and you're about to throw it away anyway, what do you have to lose?

My grandpa swore by the "firm tap" method for old electronics, fixed his tube TV more times than I can count. Of course, trying that with a modern phone is a one-way ticket to the repair shop.
