Home inspector flagged my sump pump outlet, saved my basement
Paid $450 for a pre-sale inspection on my place near Calgary and he spent 10 minutes on the sump pump wiring, said it was tied into the wrong breaker and could've fried the motor during a spring melt. I had it fixed for $180 by an electrician last month, and now I check that outlet every time we get heavy rain. Anyone else had a random inspection comment turn into a bigger fix than they expected?

Oh man, that reminds me of my buddy in Airdrie. His inspector mentioned the garage door opener was on a shared circuit with the washing machine, and he laughed it off. Next heavy rain, the washer tripped the breaker mid-cycle and the door got stuck halfway up for two days. Cost him way more than $180 to sort out.
