My neighbor in Lethbridge told me my old woodpile was basically a mouse hotel, so I moved it 30 feet from the house and built a proper gravel base.
Has anyone else found a better way to keep rodents out of firewood without using poison?

Moving it just seems like a lot of work for nothing.

Ugh, I totally get that feeling. I felt the same way when I had to rearrange my whole living room last month. Honestly, just breaking it down into one small piece at a time made it doable, like just moving the bookshelf one night. The relief afterwards was actually worth it, way more than I thought it would be.

Well, that's it exactly. We're always told to just move the problem, aren't we? Move the woodpile, move the trash cans, move the bird feeder. It's a constant shuffle to keep nature at a polite distance. I see it with my compost bin too, always chasing that sweet spot where it's useful but doesn't attract every critter in the county. Makes you wonder who's really managing who.
