My new smart thermostat in Edmonton decided the best way to save energy was to turn my heat off at 3 AM... in February.

I set it up with a schedule to lower the temp at night, but it must have glitched because I woke up to 12 degrees Celsius inside and my cat sitting on my face for warmth. I learned that maybe some tech is a bit too smart for its own good... Has anyone else had their home automation go a bit rogue on them?

Honestly, it feels like we're all just beta testers for our own homes now.

Right? I had to reboot my smart fridge three times last week because it forgot how to make ice. I mean, my parents' old fridge just... made ice. It didn't need a software patch to figure out the water was supposed to be cold.

My thermostat from 2008 still works fine. I just turn a dial.

My buddy's smart lock updated overnight and just decided it didn't recognize his face anymore. He got locked out in his pajamas at like 6am.
