Waited 4 months on a simple garage door permit in Red Deer and it still isnt done
Honestly I figured swapping out my old double door for a new one would take a weekend and maybe one trip to city hall. Nope. I dropped the permit paperwork off in Red Deer back in March and figured a couple weeks tops, but every time I called they wanted one more thing, first a site plan, then a letter from the installer, then a survey showing the setback. It dragged on so long the installer I booked moved to a different company and I had to start that part over. Four months later I'm still staring at a door that doesn't close right and an open permit file. Has anyone here gotten a garage permit pushed through in under a month, or is this just how it goes now?

My buddy in Red Deer got his done in three weeks, but that was before they started asking for a survey like it's a mortgage application. At this rate I could've learned to pour concrete and build the whole garage myself in four months.
