Can we talk about what happened when my landlord used an AI to set rent prices?
I was chatting with my neighbor last week in Austin, and he showed me the email from our property manager. They use some software called YieldStar to set rent based on what other buildings charge. He pays $200 more than me for the exact same floor plan. It hit different because I realized the algorithm isn't looking at our actual costs or incomes, just what the market can squeeze out of everyone. Has anyone else dealt with rent being set by these pricing bots instead of a real person?

$200 doesn't sound like a huge deal to me honestly.

$200 is nothing when you're paying for peace of mind.
