Got flagged as a no-show at a clinic in Dayton because the scheduling algo read my reschedule as a cancel
I called to move my 8am to 2pm, the system logged it as a cancellation, and a robot shot me a $75 missed visit fee two days later. Turns out the rep typed it into the wrong field, and no human ever checked before the fee went out. Has anyone actually gotten a company to admit their system made the call and not a person?
Is a $75 fee really worth the fight here? Getting a company to say "our system messed up" is like pulling teeth, and the rep who typed it in the wrong field is the one who actually made the error, not some robot. Most places will just refund you and move on without ever saying who was at fault. If they won't budge, a chargeback or a quick call to the clinic manager gets you your money back faster than chasing an admission. Just seems like a lot of energy for a small fee.
