I finally saw how much the hiring bots changed in 7 years
Went back to my old college career fair in Columbus last month, just to see how things were. The recruiters were still friendly, but every single resume got scanned into some tablet before they even looked at me. I asked one about the old paper pile on the table and she laughed, said they stopped keeping those in 2019. What really got me was how she admitted the system ranks you on keywords before a human ever sees it. Has anyone else watched the process shift this fast, or is it just me feeling old about it?
My buddy works in HR and always swore the bots were just a filter, but sitting there watching that tablet rank people in real time made me realize she was wrong, it really is the first screen now.
