Loan officer asked if my credit score was 'too good' for my zip code
Back in March I applied for a car loan at a bank in Phoenix and the guy straight up said that to my face. I showed him my pay stubs and rental history, but he kept circling my address printed at the top of the application. He wanted to know how I built a 760 score while living in a mobile home park, like it was some kind of puzzle. I told him my mom taught me to pay bills on time because she never could, and he just shrugged and said the system flags it anyway. Has anyone else had to justify good credit to a lender because of where you live?
