My new smart lock's algorithm denied my neighbor entry, is that right?
I installed a smart lock that uses an algorithm to decide who can enter based on past data. It blocked my neighbor yesterday even though I've let them in before, which feels unfair. What steps can we take to prevent bias in home automation choices?

What?! That's so unfair.

So how does the lock actually decide who gets in? If it's based on past data, maybe it got confused by a gap in visits. @morgan_hunt97 called it unfair, and I agree, but algorithms can be dumb like that. You should check if there's a way to reset or update its memory for regular guests. Have you looked into the app settings to see if you can adjust how it learns? Sometimes these systems need manual tweaks to avoid messing up.

Oh my! I saw a news segment about how smart home devices can make mistakes based on old data. You might need to manually override the lock sometimes to keep it fair.

Used to think these smart locks were just set and forget. Saw my sister's lock freeze out her best friend because she hadn't visited in two months, even though she's over all the time. The system just saw a gap and flagged it as weird. Now I get that the "smart" part needs a human touch sometimes, like telling it to ignore a gap for certain people. Makes you realize you can't fully trust the machine's memory.
