My old supervisor in Toledo said the scheduling software would never ding good workers, and I found out the hard way
Back in 2019 our warehouse in Toledo switched to an automated shift-picking system, and my supervisor Ray claimed it only punished people who were already slacking. A few months in, the software started handing me the worst Saturday slots even though my pick rate was in the top ten, and nobody could tell me why the model flagged me. How are you all pushing back when these systems won't show their work?
That supervisor line about "it only dings the slackers" is the same thing my gym app did when it started locking me out of peak hours after I hit 40 visits in a month. Feels like every company just trusts the black box and calls it fair. If they won't show the rules, the rules are basically whatever saves them money.
