Unpopular opinion: Those bias checkers built into hiring tools are misleading everyone
I kept seeing people on here praise the bias scores from platforms like HireVue. But last week I ran the same resume through three different tools and got three totally different fairness ratings. One flagged it as biased against women, another said it was fine. How can we trust these systems when they can't even agree with each other? Has anyone else tested these tools side by side?

You'd think three tools looking at the same resume would at least agree on the weather, let alone something as important as fairness. @susan_adams they're probably measuring different things, sure, but that's like saying two thermometers gave different readings because one was checking the temperature and the other was checking the humidity. Next thing you know we'll need a whole cheat sheet just to figure out which bias checker is actually biased. Maybe the real solution is hiring a psychic instead of an algorithm.

But isn't it possible they're just measuring different things?
