Saw a clip of a glowing orb hovering over Lake Michigan that looked way too smooth to be a drone
I was scrolling through a Facebook group for Chicago fishermen last Tuesday and a guy posted a 30 second video from his boat near Navy Pier, and I've watched it like 12 times trying to figure out if the reflection lines match CGI or real light, has anyone else seen something similar over water where the movement just feels off?

Wait, are we REALLY already calling this some kind of mystery? I mean, I saw the clip too and honestly it just looks like a drone with a REALLY bright LED kit or maybe a reflection off some weather balloon. People love to jump straight to "unexplained" when it's probably some rich guy's toy.

Does that drone explanation really hold up when you look at how the light was hitting the water though? I mean, I've seen those bright LED drones flying around Navy Pier during the summer shows, and they always have that little flicker or a tiny wobble when they hover. The one in that clip was dead steady, like it was painted on the sky, and the reflection on the lake was almost perfectly round without any ripples breaking it up. Plus weather balloons usually catch some wind drift, but this thing stayed locked in one spot for the whole 30 seconds. Makes me wonder if people are just so used to explaining everything away as a gadget that they miss the stuff that actually doesn't fit.
