TIL comparing two dashcam clips side by side settled it for me
I had two videos of the same weird orb over Phoenix from last March. One was from a guy on YouTube shot on an iPhone 14, the other was from a security camera downtown. The iPhone clip looked fake as hell, like bad CGI with lens flare. But the security cam showed the same shape and movement from a different angle. Matched up the timestamps and it was identical. Made me realize how much angle and camera quality messes with what we think is real. Anyone else cross referenced clips like that and changed your mind?

Oh goodness, this reminds me of something that happened to a friend of mine, actually. She was convinced she saw a drone swarm over her neighborhood last fall, and the video she took on her phone looked like little more than blurry lights. But then she found a clip from a neighbor’s Ring camera a few streets over, same time, same pattern, just clearer. She messaged the neighbor and they compared notes, and it turned out to be a line of geese with the sunset reflecting off them. @river952, you’re right to ask about raw files, because once she pulled the original from her phone instead of the compressed version she posted, the whole thing made way more sense. It’s wild how much a second angle changes everything.
