My landlord kept saying he'd fix the window unit AC. Every week, 'next week.' After 8 weeks I got tired of it. I bought a $25 portable fan and a foam board to seal the gap. Also learned you can clean the coils with a garden hose. The unit actually cools way better now. Has anyone else had to DIY a fix just to get through a lease?
