My neighbor said to put foil behind my radiator, and my ConEd bill dropped $40
I live in a prewar place in Queens with these old cast iron radiators that heat the wall more than the room. My neighbor Marge down the hall swore by taping foil behind them, shiny side facing the room, so I grabbed a roll from the dollar store and did all three. Two billing cycles later I'm paying about $40 less and the bedroom actually feels warm now, which I did not expect from $3 of foil. Has anyone tried the foil plus those foam pipe wraps, or is that just asking for a mess when it gets cold?
