Pick between an air mattress or a folding futon for 6 weeks in a 300 sq ft studio
I chose the futon because it doubles as a couch, but the frame squeaks like a dying hamster every time I roll over at 2 AM. Has anyone else traded sleep comfort for extra seating space and regretted it in week two?
Did your futon come with that weird metal bar thing under the middle? My buddy Sarah had basically the same setup for a summer sublet and she ended up wedging a folded towel under the squeaky spot. Worked for like a week, then the towel flattened out and it was back to hamster screams. She finally just slept on the floor with a yoga mat and used the futon strictly for sitting. Honestly, the extra couch space is nice but not worth waking up pissed off every single night.
