Warning: my landlord's maintenance guy told me to move my stuff off the balcony before he did his inspection
Last Tuesday he let slip that the building owner walks the balconies before every unit check and writes down anything that looks like storage, then bills for it later. He said 6 tenants on my floor got hit with a $75 "fire hazard" fee last spring for leaving grills and boxes out. I moved everything into a closet that night. Has anyone else dealt with a fee like that, and did you fight it?
