Fixed a dryer that three other guys said needed a new motor
It was a ten year old Whirlpool that kept tripping the thermal fuse. Everyone kept quoting for a full motor swap, but the real issue was a five dollar idler pulley. The bearing was shot, creating extra drag the motor couldn't handle. I found it by just spinning everything by hand before I even plugged it in. How many simple pulley checks are you guys doing before you condemn a motor?

Always check the easy stuff first. A seized idler or a worn belt adds a huge load the motor wasn't designed for. I keep a few common pulleys on my truck just for this reason. It saves the customer a big bill and builds trust when you fix it right.

Always check the easy stuff first" - I used to skip that step, but you just proved I was wrong.

Man, my buddy's shop replaced a whole compressor before realizing a fan blade was just bent.
