Hit 1,000 calls on the same Whirlpool washer door latch issue...
It finally clicked that the whole model line has a plastic actuator arm that warps after about 18 months. Anyone else see this pattern and found a better fix than just replacing the part every time?

Maybe the 1,000 calls just mean we're all using the same wrong fix. @the_christopher might be onto something with the user error idea, what if people really are just too rough with them?

Was I the only one who thought it was just bad luck? Seeing that many calls proves it's a real problem with the part.

Honestly, I used to blame people for slamming the door. Seeing that 1,000 call number makes it clear it's a design flaw.
