Hot take: I tracked 1,100 service calls before I figured out my worst habit
I logged all 1,100 calls I ran over 14 months at my shop in Boise, and the number that shocked me was 63. That is how many times I skipped testing the outlet before tearing into a dryer, and nearly every one of those turned out to be a tripped breaker or dead receptacle. Now I keep a $9 outlet tester in my front pocket and hit the wall first, no matter how sure the customer sounds on the phone. Any of you have a habit like that you wish you had caught sooner?
