My service van odometer rolled over 200,000 miles this morning
I was driving to a dryer repair in Mesa when I saw it happen. This is the same Ford Transit I bought used with 80,000 miles on it six years ago. It's carried me and my tools to probably 4,000 service calls. The weird part is, besides normal wear and tear, it's never left me stranded on a job. I just do the oil changes and keep up with the tires. For the other techs with high-mileage rigs, what's the one maintenance thing you swear by that keeps your van running?

Honestly, the cabin air filter. Ngl, I forget about it for ages but a clean one seems to help the whole AC system last longer.

You're so right, I'm terrible about remembering mine too. It's one of those easy things that makes a real difference.

Bettym11 that's actually a really good point I hadn't thought about (and I've definitely been guilty of skipping that filter change). I feel like most people focus on the engine air filter or the AC compressor itself, but that cabin filter sitting there getting clogged with dust and leaves and random crap is basically choking the whole airflow system, right? My mechanic buddy told me once that a dirty cabin filter can make your AC work way harder than it needs to, which probably wears out the blower motor faster over time. That's a cheap fix to avoid a much bigger headache down the road, especially for anyone in a dusty area or with a lot of pollen.
