Overheard a customer tell his wife the dryer was haunted

It stopped right after the thermal cutoff kicked from no airflow, so I showed him how to pull the filter and he looked at me like I was a wizard. Has anyone else gotten calls about ghosts that just turned out to be basic maintenance that got ignored?

People see ghosts before they check the simple stuff. Ninety percent of the time it's just a filter or a clogged vent. Appliances don't haunt, they just need to breathe.

Started charging my neighbor for an exorcism on their washing machine before I realized the drain hose was just kinked. Pretty sure my laundry room is still haunted by my lost socks though.

Saw a post on another forum where a guy swore his fridge was possessed because it kept beeping at night. Turned out the door wasn't sealing right from ice buildup in the freezer. People really jump to ghosts before looking for something simple like a dirty condenser coil or a stuck float switch. Suppose it's easier to blame the supernatural than admit you haven't cleaned anything in three years.
