Pro tip: That $40 multimeter from Harbor Freight will lie to you

I bought one of those cheap Cen-Tech multimeters to test a compressor winding on a fridge call and it told me the winding was good. Turned out the meter was reading wrong and I wasted 2 hours diagnosing a bad start relay for nothing. Anyone else had a cheap tool cost them more time than it was worth?
