PSA: I stopped replacing control boards first and it cut my callbacks in half
Used to be I'd swap out a main control board the second I saw a weird error code. Did that for maybe 3 years. Then last fall I had a Whirlpool dryer throwing an F01 on a unit that was only 2 years old. Customer wanted the board replaced. I pushed back and spent 20 minutes checking the thermistor wiring instead. Found a loose pin in the harness connector. Fixed it for free. Now I always do a full wiring and sensor check before I order any board. Saves time, saves money, and keeps me from being the guy who changes parts till it works. Anyone else find themselves jumping to conclusions on boards too quick?
