Samsung fridge compressor failed in under 3 years and I'm done defending them

Had a Samsung fridge from 2022 die on me last week - compressor just gave out, no warning. Customer called me in a panic, food was ruined. I replaced it with a LG unit instead of Samsung's own part. Told them straight up I wouldn't warranty a Samsung compressor swap. Anyone else just refusing Samsung fridge repairs now or am I being too harsh?

Not totally accurate on the LG thing though. They've actually been having their own compressor issues with their linear compressors for a few years now too, especially in models from 2019-2021. Some of those had a class action lawsuit over it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Samsung at all - their fridges are straight up garbage for reliability. But you're swapping one headache for another if you went with a standard LG fridge. Just saying theres really no great choice anymore for compressors across the board.

Oh man, I had a buddy who swore by LG after his Samsung died. Bought a 2020 LG fridge and six months later it sounds like a tractor idling in his kitchen. Called a repair guy and he said the linear compressor was shot, same class action issue you mentioned, @blair_nguyen. Ended up costing him almost as much as a new fridge just to fix it. Kinda feels like you're picking between getting punched in the gut or kicked in the shins with these brands now.
