That icemaker call in Peoria took me 5 hours for a 20 minute fix
Got sent out to a commercial fridge where the icemaker was dumping cubes everywhere. Customer said it just started doing it Monday. I checked the water inlet valve, the thermostat, even swapped the control board after 3 hours of poking around. Turns out the harvest motor had a bad gear that only slipped when the bin got below half full. I finally caught it by sitting there watching it cycle for 45 minutes straight. Has anyone else had a part fail only under a specific load like that? I feel like I need to start charging by the hour I spend just observing.

Had a buddy who chased a walk-in freezer alarm for two days before finding the condenser fan only died when the door was open for ten minutes or more. He said the hardest part was convincing the owner he wasn't just making excuses for a slow morning.
