That 'just replace the board' advice cost me a customer
A parts supplier over the phone told me to swap the main control board on a 5 year old fridge, said it was always the fix. $180 board later and it did nothing, turns out it was a $6 thermistor behind the back panel. Has anyone else had luck pushing back on those phone reps and asking for the diagnostic tree instead of the quick sell?

MAN, $180 for the board and it was a $6 thermistor? That is brutal. I'd be calling them back just to complain about the whole thing.
