TIL a client's kid handed me a toy wrench during a fridge fix
I was fixing a fridge and their toddler gave me a plastic wrench. Some guys say it's sweet and builds trust, but others find it distracting. Do you let families watch or ask for space?

Hidden safety risk" is right, like @barnes.stella said about it happening in a split second. I read a thing about how a clean work zone is a safe one, even in a home. It's just smarter to kindly ask for some space to avoid any trip hazards.

Honestly people miss the hidden safety risk with little kids around. That plastic tool could slip under your foot while you're carrying something heavy. It's cute until someone gets hurt from a simple trip.

True, never really thought about that before. My niece left her toy drill out last week and I almost wiped out carrying groceries. Makes you realize how easy it would be to take a bad fall.

Yikes, that's seriously scary. I've had those close calls too, where you're just carrying laundry or a full trash bag and your foot hits some tiny toy. Those plastic tools are the worst because they blend right into the floor. It really does happen in a split second, and you're right, it's not just a little stumble. Makes me worry about someone older taking that kind of fall.
