Unpopular opinion: getting the diagnostic right the first time saved my whole week
I used to guess at a washer that wouldn't spin, order a motor, and waste 45 minutes on the second trip. Now I spend 10 minutes with a multimeter on the lid switch and drain pump before touching anything. The change happened over about three weeks after a callback in Portland cost me a $95 part and a bad review. My callback rate dropped from about one in five jobs to maybe one in fifteen once I started testing first. How do you all decide when to test versus just swap the common part?
