Compared a metal detector from 1995 to my buddy's new one on a dig in Arizona last week
So my uncle gave me his old Fisher 1266-X from like 1995 and I took it out near a ghost town outside Tombstone. My buddy had a brand new Nokta Legend and honestly the difference was wild - his was picking up deep targets at 12 inches while mine barely got 6. I dug like 30 holes and found 2 old square nails while he pulled a 1880s sheriff's badge and a handful of bullets. Has anyone else upgraded from an old machine and seen a huge jump in finds or is it mostly luck?

Did your buddy give you any honest advice on what settings or features made the biggest difference, or was it just raw depth that set them apart?

Read that depth difference is mostly the newer tech handling mineralized ground way better.

Does your buddy think it's something like the processing speed handling the ground noise or is it more about the coil design and frequency options?
