Hit 50 arrowheads in one field near my place and it's messing with my head
I was walking a field my uncle plows every spring, just killing time after work. I found the first one maybe five years ago, a little quartz point. Yesterday I pulled number 50 out of that same strip of dirt. It's not even a big field, maybe 10 acres. I've got them all lined up on a shelf in my garage now. Started looking up who could have lived there and found out the land was part of an old native trade route. Makes me wonder how many people walked through there without leaving anything but broken rocks. Has anyone else found a crazy number of artifacts in one spot like that?

Whoa, hold up. I get the fascination, I do, but calling them "broken rocks" kinda rubs me the wrong way. Those aren't just junk they left behind, those are tools and arrowheads that people spent time making and using for hunting and survival. Finding 50 in one spot is wild, but it doesn't make the people who lived there any less real or important than if they'd left a stone house. Maybe try to see it as a connection to real lives lived out there, not just a collection of old junk.

Totally, found a grinding stone once and it hit me different.

Wait, aren't arrowheads just broken rocks too?
