Just realized I spent 6 months using the wrong sieve for soil samples

Took me forever to figure out why my carbon dating results were all over the place... turns out the mesh size on my standard kitchen sieve was way too large for fine sediment. Has anyone else made that kind of simple tool mix up in the field?

Man, isn't it always the little things that mess you up the most?

Disagree completely. The big things are what really knock you off your feet - losing a job, a serious health scare, or a relationship ending. Those are the events that reshape your entire life and take months or years to recover from. A little thing like a stubbed toe or a flat tire is annoying for an hour, then you move on.

You know, @nathan100, I actually used to roll my eyes at that idea, thinking big life stuff was obviously harder. But man, I switched to a new brand of floss at work and it kept shredding on my patients' tight contacts. I spent a whole week getting frustrated and blaming myself, only to realize it was just the cheap floss. It was such a tiny dumb thing, but it wrecked my whole mood and made me feel like a bad hygienist for days.
