Blew $180 on a fancy juicer that I used exactly twice before it became a cabinet ornament

I convinced myself I'd be one of those morning juice people but all I got was sticky countertops and a blender that takes 20 minutes to wash, has anyone else fallen for the kitchen gadget hype?

Oh please, that $180 juicer is probably the best investment you never made, you're just not using it right. Maybe if you actually cleaned it immediately instead of letting pulp turn into cement you wouldn't be complaining. Isn't the whole point of kitchen gadgets that they make life easier if you put in a tiny bit of effort?

That pull-apart cleaning is the real killer. Learned the hard way that if you don't rinse every part within five minutes, it's basically a science experiment. Best move is to keep a little dish brush right next to the sink and just blast everything with hot water as soon as you pour the juice. Also helps to only buy stuff with like five parts max - anything more and it's just gonna sit there.

Right? @ben_lewis I feel that so hard. I bought one of those fancy centrifugal juicers thinking I'd be making fresh juice every morning, and now it's basically a dust collector in my cabinet. I mean, I tried the whole "rinse immediately" thing but even then I feel like there's always one little nook you miss and three days later its growing something. Honestly, the five-part rule is genius, I might have to start applying that to everything I buy for the kitchen. Idk, maybe I'm just lazy but if a gadget feels like a part-time job to clean, it's not worth it.
