Can we talk about how a bad bus transfer in Portland changed my whole routine?
I waited 45 minutes for the 12 bus at 6th and Morrison last Tuesday because the app said it was coming in 5 minutes the whole time. Missed my connection to Powell and had to walk 20 blocks in the rain. Now I just bike everywhere instead of trusting the schedule. Anyone else ditch public transit after one too many letdowns?

Have you looked into whether your bus stop has a shelter or bench? I stand at a stop on SE Belmont with no cover and it feels like the system is daring you to leave. After my third 30 minute wait in the cold I started biking too. It is not just the delay but the lack of basic comfort that makes you give up.

The exact same thing happened to me with the 72 bus on Division. I stood there like an idiot watching three buses go by on the tracker before it finally showed up 40 minutes late. After that I started driving everywhere even though parking costs a fortune. It is crazy how one terrible transfer can make you completely give up on the whole system. Portland just cannot seem to get the timing right no matter what app they use.
