I changed my mind about asking questions after a workshop in Austin
I used to think asking for help made me look dumb, but the speaker said 'the only bad question is the one you don't ask' when someone asked about handling tough clients. Now I always speak up in meetings. What's something you were afraid to ask about?

I was scared to ask how to read a profit and loss sheet for years. At my old job, the finance guy threw around terms like "amortization" and I just nodded. Finally in a budget meeting last fall, I just said "Can you walk us through the columns on page two?" Turns out three other people didn't get it either. The speaker seemed relieved someone asked. Now I make a point to ask for plain English explanations right away.

My old boss used to say "there's no such thing as a dumb question about money." I keep a list of those finance terms on my desk now, with simple definitions. It helps a ton.

Struggled to ask for feedback on my design work for a long time. Thought it would show I wasn't good enough. Now I just ask "what's one thing I could fix" and it always makes the project better.
