Overheard a stranger at a coffee shop say he stopped trying to be right all the time
I was eavesdropping (sorry, not sorry) on a conversation at Blue Dog Coffee in Portland last Saturday, and this guy told his friend that arguing less actually made his relationships better. He said he used to correct people on tiny facts, but now he just lets things slide unless it really matters. Has anyone else tried dialing back the need to win small arguments, and did it actually help?

Told my buddy Mike that same thing last year and now his wife actually laughs at his jokes again.

Blue Dog Coffee is actually in northeast Portland not southeast.

Hear me out though - maybe Blue Dog Coffee has always been southeast and people just got the location wrong for years. I've seen the place packed with students from Cleveland High and they're definitely in the southeast part of town. The building itself has that old SE Portland feel with the brick and the corner spot on Division. Plus their roastery is over on Powell which is solidly southeast territory. I bet the address confusion started because the owner used to run a pop up in northeast before settling in SE and people just kept repeating the wrong location online.
