Question about the $12 slow cooker that quit on me during a chili night in Reno
The pot died about 40 minutes in, so I dumped everything into a stock pot on the stove and it actually came out better. Has anyone else had a cheap appliance fail and end up with a better result than the original plan?
That "actually came out better" part is real. A buddy of mine had a cheap rice cooker die halfway through a batch, so he finished it on the stove and the crusty bottom was the best part. Sometimes the plan failing is the only way you find the better way to do it.
